Wedding Preparation For The Bride

Beautiful Bride

Planning a wedding can be a very stressful time, which can take its toll on your skin, hair and body.  A natural flawless look can be achieved if you embark on a beauty regime as part of your wedding preparation.  Look your best on your wedding day with our wedding beauty timeline.

Three Months To Go

Hair and Beauty

Do your research for your bridal hair and makeup as part of your wedding preparation.  Experiment with shades and colours and try out different looks.  Aim for a neutral look but with more emphasis for the photos.  Don’t go for a look that you wouldn’t normally wear.

Think about what wedding beauty treatments you want to have in the run up to your big day.  Book appointments now, so you don’t have to worry about it later.

Start a regular skincare routine and invest in some quality products.  Makeup can only be as good as the skin it is on.  Cleanse, tone and moisturise daily.

If you are having a professional makeup artist then now is the time to find a good one.  Ask for recommendations from friends and always have a trial before you book them for your big day.  Choose someone you are comfortable with.

A white dazzling smile is a great way to improve your appearance and boost your confidence for photos.  You can visit a dentist for teeth whitening or use a home whitening kit as a cheaper alternative.

Avoid any sunburn and apply sunscreen daily until your wedding.  It is very difficult to cover up sunburned skin with makeup.

Your Body

Drink lots of water!  Aim to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day for radiant skin, hair and eyes.  Cut down on caffeine and fizzy drinks.

Any detox programmes should be done now as the release of all those toxins can give you spots.

If you haven’t already, start an exercise programme.  Exercise should be part of your wedding preparation.  It is a great way to tone up, reduce stress and boost circulation to help you look radiant on the day.  It doesn’t need to be strenuous – gentle walking or swimming will help you to lose a few pounds.

Don’t start a diet that you can’t stick to.  You will end up feeling more stressed and frustrated.  A healthy eating regime rich in anti-oxidants will be much more beneficial.

Two Months To Go

Exfoliate once a week to get your body glowing.

Don’t forget your feet.  Have regular pedicures to remove rough skin and keep your feet lovely and soft.

Have your eyebrows shaped by a professional.  You will be amazed what a difference it makes to your face.

One Month To Go

Have your hair trimmed and a colour touch up. This allows time to rectify any errors.

Cut down on alcohol which can cause havoc for your skin.

Keep up the good work with your healthy eating and exercise regime.  You can indulge on your honeymoon!

Two Weeks To Go

This is a busy time for the wedding beauty regime.  Why not book into a salon and spoil yourself?  Go on, after all that stressful planning you deserve it!

Have your eyelashes tinted as a great alternative to running mascara on the day.

Remove unwanted body hair.  Legs, arms… whatever.  Waxing is a low cost option for de-fuzzing but only if you have done it before.  Don’t leave waxing to the last minute as it may leave you looking red and blotchy.

Have your last facial so it is not too close to your wedding day just incase you come out in a rash.

One Week To Go

This is the week for last minute wedding preparations.  Have your last hair and makeup trial.

Confirm what makeup your bridesmaids will be wearing.  Don’t just assume they will wear neutral tones just because you are.

Have your brows done.  With one week to go you just need to have your regular shaping done.

Get a spray tan.  A light spray tan will give you a hint of colour and natural glow.  Don’t do it yourself as a bridal spray tan should be done by a professional!

The Day Before

Don’t wear any make up the day before your wedding to allow your skin to breathe.

Check your eyebrows for any stray hairs and last minute plucking.

Have your manicure so you don’t have to worry about smudging nail polish on the day.  It is also an opportunity to grab a few minutes of relaxation!

There you have it.  The three-month wedding beauty timeline to follow as part of your wedding preparation, that will ensure you look as beautiful and radiant as possible for your special day.
