Meet The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator

Top Table - The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator

We love the current trend for weddings that are styled with gorgeous antiques, eclectic trinkets and pretty china.  When we came across Jessica from the Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator who offers all this and a little bit more, we just had to get to know her a little better and find out what her business can offer brides-to-be.

How did you get into event styling?

I have always had that ‘creative touch’ and felt a little like a chained up puppy in all of my years of administration work yearning to let my imagination and love for all things pretty fly free but it wasn’t until I was given the opportunity to work at Hire Society that I really found my calling and after learning so much from them and styling my own wedding that I thought,“Hey, I think I have found something that I am head over heels in love with that I am actually sort of good at” and so The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator was born.

Your business is pretty unique, what services do you provide for weddings?

I offer bespoke event styling, the occasional baked goods for those that love sweet treats and a companion that can create all things pretty for you.  While I am not an event planner as such and concentrate on the over décor of the event, I do recommend amazing Perth creatives to my clients and put them in touch with venues, florists, makeup artists, hairstylists, caterers, stationery experts, dressmakers, photographers etc so that the whole day comes together in the most perfect way.

We love your elegant rustic style, where do you find most of your inspiration?

My heart, I do things that I genuinely love, and my clients, their story and their own personal style.  I currently work from home and my walls inside and out of our poor little house are lined with antiques, props, trinkets and treasures.  Although my husband at the best of times thinks differently, I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I love sitting at my old childhood telephone table working with my couples, surrounded by things that are so unique, interesting and inspiring – each with a story of their own.

What are the big trends in wedding styling at the moment?

I think the biggest trend is finding something different, that reflects you as a person or couple so that your event is unique and one of a kind.  I guess you could say that the trend is “not to follow a trend” – ha-ha!?

What is the most unusual request you have had from a bride?

I don’t find anything unusual!  It is the fun quirky ideas and requests that make me LOVE what I do.  Each event is different – nothing is the same and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

How do you spend your time when you aren’t baking and styling?

I spend some days helping out at a local Vintage Antique Shop and squeeze in some play time with my darling husband Leon and our two gloriously mischievous bulldogs Daphne and Doris.
